"The Fifth Kingdom"By MICHAEL E. DAY

In Daniel Chapter two, Daniel expounds on the Great Image and on four kingdoms. Those four historic kingdoms were Babylon, Media-Persia, Greco-Macedonia, and Rome. The fifth Kingdom is mentioned in chapter two verse forty-four:
“And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”
This fifth kingdom is God’s kingdom, which all believers are presently a part of. In the New Testament, The kingdom of God/The kingdom of Heaven (Hereafter referred to as God’s kingdom) is mentioned more than fifty times. Several times in the Gospels, we are told that God’s kingdom is “at hand” in the first century. We will more closely examine three of those kingdom verses.
Jesus says in Matthew 12:28 “But if I cast out demons by the spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”
In Luke 17:20-21 we read: “Now when he was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said The kingdom of God does not come with observation: Nor will they say see here! Or see there! For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
Romans 14:17
reads “…for
the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but
righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
According to the scripture God’s kingdom is fully in existence right now. It is never described as being partially here and partially in the future. God’s kingdom came into existence in the first century and is here to stay forever.
So be encouraged to seek God’s kingdom (Matt 6:33) and to sow
to the spirit (Gal
6:8), so that you may experience fullness of joy.
